In the suburbs of Beirut, a talented collective of women artisans gather each day to work on their fine heritage craft: Palestinian cross-stitch, which has hundreds of years of culture and stories behind it and is still practiced across the world in diasporas. Alsama Studio is situated in a refugee camp, empowers Syrian, Palestinian, and Lebanese women embroiderers. Collaborating with LVPx (a London-based studio), their traditional craft meets modern attire in bursts of colors and utmost quality - sustainability is also taken into consideration as the embroidered items are upcycled. I had the pleasure to be the content director and creator, representing the Middle East, taking over their social media for three months as well as overseeing the creation of their new website!
